Caprock Canyonlands Archeology
Archeological investigations at Lake Alan Henry, in Garza and Kent Counties, Texas, between 1987 and 1993 generated much archeological data relevant to interpreting late Holocene human activities. Structural remains, burials: and trash pits exposed by land leveling activities in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, were recorded dunng July, 1984. Based on the material remains and corrected radiocarbon assrz:s datingfrom-"A.D. 1206. to 1408, the New Smith site appears affiliated with the Zimms complex, a Plams Village manifestation m western Oklahoma. Structures at the site are thought to represent arbors placed over burial features. Pits associat…
