Greek Marbles
A study has been made of carbon-13 and oxygen-18 variations in Greek marbles from the ancient quarry localities of Naxos, Paros, Mount Hymettus, and Mount Pentelikon. Parian, Hymettian, and Pentelic marbles can be clearly distinguished by the isotopic relationships; Naxian marbles fall into two groups characterized by different oxygen-18/oxygen-16 ratios. Isotopic Variations in Meteoric Waters
The relationship between deuterium and oxygen-18 concentrations in natural meteoric waters from many parts of the world has been determined with a mass spectrometer. The isotopic enrichments, relative to ocean water, display a linear correlation over the entire range for waters which have not undergone excessive evaporation.
Mass-Spectrometer Analyses of Radiocarbon Standards
Twenty-four samples of CO 2 from combustion of the NBS oxalic-acid radiocarbon standard, submitted from 13 radiocarbon laboratories, were analyzed for C 13 content in this laboratory in order to provide comparative data for normalizing the counting results. The samples were analyzed on Samson, a 60° sector, six-inch radius, McKinney-Nier type mass-spectrometer with magnetic switching between sample and standard gas feed to the instrument
