  • Resilience of plant and testate amoeba communities after climatic and anthropogenic disturbances in a Baltic bog in Northern Poland

    Open Access•Mariusz Gałka, Kazimierz Tobolski et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2016•Referencias: 22

This study explores the history of the development of Sphagnum communities in an ombrotrophic peatland – Bagno Kusowo – over the past 650 years, based on high-resolution plant macrofossil and testate amoebae analysis. Our research provided information related to the length of peatland existence and the characteristics of its natural/pristine state before the most recent human impacts. Changes in the Sphagnum communities before human impact could …

  • Late Glacial and Early Holocene lake level fluctuations in NE Poland tracked by macro-fossil, pollen and diatom records

Open Access•Mariusz Gałka, Kazimierz Tobolski et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2015

  • Disentangling the drivers for the development of a Baltic bog during the Little Ice Age in northern Poland

Open Access•Mariusz Gałka, Kazimierz Tobolski et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2014

  • Postglacial history of vegetation, human activity and lake-level changes at Jezioro Linówek in northeast Poland, based on multi-proxy data

    Open Access•Mariusz Gałka, Kazimierz Tobolski et al.•ARTICLE•Vegetation History and…•2013•Citada por: 22•Referencias: 18

We present the postglacial history of vegetation, human activities and changes in lake level in the context of climate change in northeast Poland from ~14,000 cal. b.p. to the present day. The palaeoecological reconstruction is based on the results of high-resolution plant macrofossil analyses as well as records from pollen, Cladocera and radiocarbon dating. Climate fluctuations and human activity have caused many changes in vegetation developmen…

  • Palaeoecological evidence for anthropogenic acidification of a kettle-hole peatland in northern Poland

    Open Access•Mariusz Lamentowicz, Kazimierz Tobolski et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2007•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 6

The Holocene developmental history of a small kettle-hole peatland in northern Poland was studied using radiocarbon dating and analyses of pollen, plant macrofossils and testate amoebae with the aim of sorting out the influences of climate change, autogenic succession and human impact. The mire followed the classical succession from lake to a Sphagnum-dominated peatland, but peat accumulation only started about 3000 cal. BP. A rapid shift to wett…

  • C Dating of Plant Macrofossils in Lake Sediment

Open Access•Michael Andree, Hans Oeschger et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1986•Citada por: 13•Referencias: 4

Macrofossils of terrestrial plants have been picked from a sediment core taken in Lake Lobsigen, a small lake on the Western Swiss Plateau. The sediments were previously analyzed for pollen composition, plant and animal macrofossils, and stable isotopes. Plant macrofossils were selected near pollen zone boundaries in Late Glacial and early Postglacial sediment for 14 C dating by AMS. In the same lake carbonate and gyttja (aquatic plant) samples w…
