  • Sedimentological variability and depositional environment of the Anthemountas River (Northern Greece) during the Late Pleistocene and Holocene

    Open Access•Sofia Doani, Iwona Hildebrandt-Radke et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2021

  • Stable Isotope and Radiocarbon Analysis in Animal Bones from the Prehistoric Settlement of Dispilio, Kastoria Lake, Northern Greece

Open Access•Paraskevi Chantzi, Elissavet Dotsika et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2017•Referencias: 54

Wild boar and roe deer samples from an excavation in Dispilio, Greece, were subjected to collagen extraction protocols to reconstruct the paleoecological regime. Radiocarbon ( 14 C) analysis suggested the Middle/Late Neolithic period and the database was updated with collagen samples. The 14 C model concluded to a possible local deforestation effect in the settlement subbasin confirmed by sediment δ 13 C and δ 15 N values. Carbon isotope values i…

  • A multi-proxy approach to reconstructing sedimentary environments from the Sperchios delta, Greece

    Open Access•Sofia Pechlivanidou, Konstantinos Vouvalidis et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2014•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 3

This paper presents an integrated approach to assess Holocene environmental changes in the Sperchios delta, Sperchios rift, central Greece. A multidisciplinary study was carried out applying established analytical methods as well as exploring new techniques to detect past environmental conditions in a fluvio-deltaic depositional system. A series of six deep boreholes, up to 50 m long, and four shallow cores, up to 6 m long, from across the delta …

  • Integrated GIS, remote sensing and geomorphologic approaches for the reconstruction of the landscape habitation of Thessaly during the neolithic period

    Open Access•Dimitrios D Alexakis, Dimitrios Alexakis et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science•2010•Citada por: 21•Referencias: 1
