  • Hydroclimatic Changes Revealed by Multiple Proxies Since the Last Glacial Maximum from the Core Monsoon Zone of India

Open Access•Mohammad Firoze Quamar, Jyotsna Dubey et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary•2024

We present multiproxy records from a 2.25-m-long lake sediment profile from central India, which suggested that between ~22,200 and 18,658 cal yr BP, the Indian Summer Monsoon (ISM) was weak, supporting open vegetation in a cool and dry climate, which is globally correlated with the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). The grain size data of this phase suggest low-energy conditions, indicating a weak ISM. Environmental magnetic concentration-dependent par…

  • Mineral magnetic and XRD spectroscopic studies to investigate the firing temperatures of archeological potsherds

    Open Access•Jyotibala Singh, S J Sangode et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science…•2021•Referencias: 4

  • A mid- to late-Holocene record of vegetation decline and erosion triggered by monsoon weakening and human adaptations in the south-east Indian Peninsula

    Open Access•Meng Cui, Zhanghua Wang et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2017•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 8

The mid- to late-Holocene monsoon decline led to aridification of the Indian Peninsula impacting the early agricultural practices in the region. Our analysis of organic carbon, mineral magnetic properties and AMS 14 C dating of a 54.2-m-long sediment core (CY) from the Godavari Delta, India, showed changes in the organic carbon source and sediment provenance, which are linked to the changes in vegetation and soil/rock erosion caused by widespread…

  • Multiproxy record of monsoon variability from the Ganga Plain during 400–1200 A.D

Open Access•Dhruv Sen Singh, Anil K Gupta et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2015

  • Environmental magnetic studies on some Quaternary sediments of varied depositional settings in the Indian sub-continent
