Excavations on the Roman temporary camps at the Three Bridges, Camelon, Falkirk
A series of small-scale excavations was carried out in the 1990s on an area of ditched enclosures some 500 m west of the Roman fort at Camelon.The complexity of perimeter ditches indicates the expansion and probable contraction of activity in the first and second centuries .A significant part of this activity was of a semi-industrial nature and may relate to the supply of the army over a wider region
Excavation at Kinneil fortlet on the Antonine Wall, 1980-1
Excavation at Kinneil recorded a long-axis fortlet measuring 18.5 m west/east by 21.5 m north/south internally, attached to and contemporary with the Antonine Wall.A cobbled road, flanked by rectangular wooden buildings, ran between the north and south gateways.The ramparts were protected by a single small ditch, with the main Antonine Ditch to the north.Within the period of the Roman occupation the site was remodelled with the north gate being p…

Presents the results of twenty-one excavations and watching briefs along the Wall. The alignment of the Wall and the position of fort defences were identified in several places. New information about the superstructure of the Wall, soldiers' diet, and the contemporary environment was obtained. Romano-British Pottery Kilns at Caldicot, Gwent
Rescue excavation at Caldicot, Gwent (ST 4787) revealed at least six kilns of late third to early fourth century A.D. date, along with evidence for earlier (third century) production. Jars form the most important class of vessel produced and forms reminiscent of BB1 were particularly significant. The kiln products fit within the chronologically much broader reduced ware tradition of south-east Wales

Eight ring-ditches and several stretches of pit alignment have been excavated between 1981 and 1985, as part of the investigation of an extensive cropmark complex on a gravel terrace in the Upper Severn valley at Four Crosses, northern Powys. Excavation of the ring-ditches, which form part of a more scattered barrow cemetery, has revealed a long and complex pattern of development of barrow types and burial forms in the period between the Middle N…

Excavations at Northwich ( Condate )
The Roman sites of the Cheshire Plain have, with the exception of Middlewich, received little excavation in recent years. Indeed there has been no previous excavation at Northwich. Despite a very large degree of disturbance and other archaeological difficulties, the excavations established the existence of a two-phase auxiliary fort of Flavian origin on the site.
