  • Exploring the growth and development of restorative justice in Bangladesh

Muhammad Asadullah, Brenda Morrison•ARTICLE•The International Journal of…•2021

Exploring the growth and development of restorative justice in Bangladesh Although restorative justice is a new concept in Bangladesh (BD), resolving wrongdoing outside the criminal justice system is not a new practice. Community-based mediation, known as salish , has been practised for centuries – withstanding colonisation, adaptation and distortion. Other practices, such as village courts and customary justice, are also prevalent in Bangladesh.…

  • ‘Communities are not at the periphery, rather they are at the centre of Restorative Justice in BC’

Muhammad Asadullah, Brenda Morrison•ARTICLE•Contemporary Justice Review•2021

There has been ebbs and flows, since 1982, with the growth of Restorative Justice (RJ) practices in British Columbia (BC), Canada. In the ongoing effort of designing school contexts in support of proactive discipline, a range of practices and theoretical frameworks have been advanced, from behaviorist approaches to social and emotional learning. • School Bullying and Restorative Justice

    Open Access•Brenda Morrison•ARTICLE•Journal of Social Issues•2006•Citada por: 7•Referencias: 21

The adverse effects of school bullying and victimization have been well documented; yet, there has been little theoretical development in understanding these heterogeneous behavior patterns. This study integrates three theories that support the practice of restorative justice in responding to school bullying: Scheff's theory of unacknowledged shame, Braithwaite's reintegrative shaming theory; and Tyler's procedural justice theory. The results rev…

  • Stochastic Linear Programming with Applications to Economic Models

Jati K Sengupta, Gerhard Tintner et al.•ARTICLE•Economica•1963

In an ordinary linear programming problem we assume that all the parameters, i.e. the coefficients of the objective function, the inequalities and the resource availabilities, are sure numbers known without errors. This is frequently not a realistic assumption in economic models, where the errors of aggregation t1], the extraneous nature of estimates t2] and even the incidence of market expectations are quite significant. Hence in economic models…
