    B Krishna Singh, Butta Singh et al.•ARTICLE•Marriage & Family Review•1998•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 17

This study examined attitudes toward parents and their grown children sharing common households, as an indicator of extended family living arrangement, based on nine national surveys conducted from 1973 through 1989. Using probability sampling procedures, samples were drawn from a population of persons over the age of 18 years and residing in non-institutional settings in the United States. The results indicated that approval of this living arran…

  • Substance Abuse and Arrests Variations in Pretreatment Arrests of Clients in Drug Treatment Programs

    Open Access•B K Singh, Butta Singh et al.•ARTICLE•Criminology•1981•Referencias: 12

Data from published annual reports of the Client Oriented Data Acquisition Process (CODAP)‐the nationol monitoring system of drug abuse treatment‐are used. Variations based on sex and age are found, but not for race. The type of drug abuse was associated with differential arrest patterns. The results suggested that cocai…

  • Correlates of attitudes toward euthanasia

    B K Singh, Butta Singh•ARTICLE•Social Biology•1979•Citada por: 14•Referencias: 1

Data from a national survey conducted in 1977 were examined to identify correlates of attitudes toward euthanasia and suicide for terminally ill persons. The results indicated that race, religious participation, and attitudes toward freedom of expression were directly associated with such attitudes. It was also found that regional variations in such attitudes could be explained by the degree of urbanization of geographic regions

  • Contextual and ideological dimensions of attitudes toward discretionary abortion

Open Access•B Krishna Singh, Butta Singh et al.•ARTICLE•Demography•1978•Citada por: 8•Referencias: 12

This study examines the contextual and ideological dimensions of attitudes toward discretionary abortion using two national surveys. The abortion attitudes are dichotomized in terms of consistent opposition versus consistent support. Discriminant analysis, partial correlations, and stepwise regression procedures are used in the analysis. Findings indicate that education and attendance at religious services are the two most significant contextual …

  • Differential Labeling of Juveniles a Multivariate Analysis

    Open Access•Ralph L Blankenship, B Krishna Singh et al.•ARTICLE•Criminology•1976•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 18

Prior studies and commonsense definitions of the decision‐making process suggest that the ascriptive power of the commitment offense, gravity of the commitment offense, psychiatric characteristics of the offender, and the social identity given off by the offender's family would be causally related to variance in the deviance label, i.e., decisions to commit to a mental hospital rather than to a corrections institution. Case records from both sett…
