A Chalcolithic Burial in the Mountain-Forest Zone of the Trans-Urals
We describe an unusual burial at a stratifi ed Chalcolithic site Shaitanskoye 4-6 on the coast of the eponymous lake in the Sverdlovsk Region. An individual, aged 18–35 was buried in an oval fl at-grave pit, 1.6 × 0.56 × 0.2 m in size. On the lunula stone pendants and their taiga counterparts
The paper provides brief information about crescent-shaped or moon-shaped stone pendants from the Bronze Age sites of Southern and Western Siberia. These artifacts belong to the category of rather rare finds. Across the vast territory from Cisbaikalia in the east to the Middle Irtysh Basin in the west only about 50 such items are known from the complexes of Glazkovo, Okunevo, Elunino, Odino, Krotovo, and Stepanovo archaeo-logical cultures. The article presents the characteristics of the multi-temporal settlements that existed in the 8th-3rd centuries BC on the ruins of Shaitanskoe Lake II, a unique sanctuary of the beginning of the Bronze Age in the vicinity of the village Neivo-Rudyanka, Sverdlovsk Region. Bystry Kulyogan-38 –Bronze Age Fortified Dwelling In The Surgut Ob Area
In 2000, archaeologists from Yekaterinburg and Surgut excavated the preserved portion (380 sq. m) of the Bronze Age fortifi ed settlement situated on the Bystry Kulyogan River, right bank of the Ob River, 35 km west of Surgut. The settlement was initially estimated to be approximately 650 sq. m in size. An isolated dwelling was located on a small sandy promontory. It was protected by an arcuate moat and probably by a palisade along the perimeter.…

The present article describes materials from the ritual site of Shaitanskoye Ozero II, Sverdlovsk Oblast. Two excavations carried out at the site measuring less than 100 sq. m in size, yielded more than 130 bronze artifacts: utensils, weapons, rolled copper ornaments, and abundant smelting and casting waste.
