The Self-Concepts of Black and White Delinquents
Despite the wide range of “self-concept” research which has been carried out in Britain and America, there is little published work on the self-concepts of British teenage black delinquents. Inter‐rater Reliability and the Infant Rating Scale (Irs)
S ummary . The manual to the Infant Rating Scale (Lindsay, 1981) discusses the reliability of the scale only in terms of test‐retest data. The authors argue that information on inter‐rater reliability is at least as important to the test user as the test‐retest data and they provide an indication of the scale's reliability based on ratings given independently by two teachers on 88 infant pupils. S ummary . 196 Teacher's Certificate students were assessed on their penultimate teaching practice by 67 supervising tutors. The students were divided into three comparable groups and were supervised by three comparable groups of paired tutors. After three‐and‐a‐half weeks each student was graded (A to E) by two tutors independently.
