Network analysis of mental health knowledge and stigma among high school students in Sichuan, China
This network analysis highlights MHKQ10 and MHKQ11 as pivotal targets for stigma reduction, with misconceptions about treatment adherence linking knowledge deficits to devaluation perceptions. Gender-invariant structures suggest universal applicability for school-based interventions, aligning with China's mental health initiatives to enhance literacy and promote equity
Higher mental illness-related stigma after receiving mental health service among adolescents and youth with depressive symptoms in Chongqing, China
These findings indicate that a substantial treatment gap for depressive symptoms persists among adolescents and students in Chongqing, China. Notably, among female students, mental health service use in the past 12 months was associated with heightened mental illness-related stigma. This underscores the need for interventions that specifically address stigma in the context of mental health service use
The causal relationship between mental illness-related stigma and mental health knowledge among adolescents at different educational stages
An increase in mental health knowledge may not alleviate mental illness-related stigma among adolescent student, but might predict higher levels of stigma, particularly among university students. This suggests that educational interventions focusing solely on knowledge dissemination, without addressing emotional attitudes and social norms, may not only fail to effectively reduce stigma but could potentially produce counterproductive effects. Futu…
Insomnia of students following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions in China
Following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, insomnia remained prevalent among young Chinese students. Preexisting self-reported mental disorders, neglectful parenting, and pandemic-related maladaptive behaviors increase the risk of insomnia, whereas positive lifestyle adjustments, stable relationships, and higher maternal education appear protective. A significant association was observed between insomnia severity and symptoms of depression, …
Bridging structural MRI with cognitive function for individual level classification of early psychosis via deep learning
We reveal the feasibility of automated cognitive estimation using sMRI by deep learning models, and also demonstrate the implicit adoption of cognitive measures as additional information to facilitate EP classifications from healthy controls

An Analysis of the Characteristics of Pseudo Detective Translation in Late Qing Dynasty—With Zhang Kunde’s Translation as Example
In the Late Qing Dynasty, while a large number of foreign literary translations entered China with national revolution gathered paces, there were also some works created by Chinese people under the guise of translation. Such works are known as “pseudo-translation” works. This paper attempts to argue for the existence of pseudo-translations in the translations of the first series of detective novels, Chinese, in terms of the conversion of signatur…

Mental Health, Bullying, and Victimization among Chinese Adolescents
The purpose of this study was to examine if adolescents who experience anxiety or depression have higher levels of reported bullying victimization or perpetration than those who do not. Based on the existing research, we hypothesized that those who experienced moderate or severe depression and anxiety would have higher rates of bullying victimization and perpetration when compared to those who experienced mild or no depression. This study used an…
Health Benefits Quantification for New-Energy Vehicles Promotion
Considering that the promotion of new-energy vehicles (NEVs) is a potential measure to address urban air pollution, the Chinese government has launched subsidy schemes to improve its market penetration. The purpose of this study is to quantify the economic benefits of NEV promotion from 2016 to 2019 and compare them with the cost of government subsidies in Beijing, so the effectiveness of the NEV policies can be evaluated and valuable recommendat…
The Cause of China’s Haze Pollution
Based on the extended STIRPAT model, this paper examines social and economic factors regarding PM 2.5 concentration intensity in 255 Chinese cities from 2007 to 2016, and includes quantile regressions to analyze the different effects of these factors among cities of various sizes. The results indicate that: (1) during 2007-2016, urban PM 2.5 concentration exhibited declining trends in fluctuations concerning the development of the urban economy, …
Does Environmental Policy Help Green Industry? Evidence from China’s Promotion of Municipal Solid Waste Sorting
As municipal solid waste severely threatens human health and the ecological environment, since 2019, China has started to fully practice MSW sorting in all prefecture-level cities. In this paper, we apply the event study and difference-in-difference methods to investigate how China's green policy of promoting MSW sorting influences listed waste sorting companies from the perspective of investors' short-term and long-term reactions. This paper fin…
Movement in High School
The purposes of this study were (a) to examine the proportions of adolescents in China who partially or fully meet three 24-h movement guidelines on physical activity, screen-time, and sleep duration and (b) to examine whether there were gender differences in the proportion of boys and girls meeting these guidelines. The sample was made up of high school adolescents from an eastern province of China (N = 1338). The participants completed a self-r…
Distribution, Removal, and Risk Assessment of Pharmaceuticals and Their Metabolites in Five Sewage Plants
The extensive use of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) leads to a continuous increase of their presence in urban wastewater. These pollutants are discharged into natural waters and pose a threat to human health and the ecological environment. This study focused on five sewage treatment plants in three cities of China's Yangtze River Delta as research sites to study the distribution and degradation of drugs and their conversion pr…
Modeling the Activated Sludge—Thickening Process in Secondary Settlers
A single paragraph of about 200 words maximum. For research articles; abstracts should give a pertinent overview of the work. We strongly encourage authors to use the following style of structured abstracts; but without headings: (1) BACKGROUND: Place the question addressed in a broad context and highlight the purpose of the study; (2) METHODS: Describe briefly the main methods or treatments applied; (3) RESULTS: Summarize the article's main find…
Soda intake and osteoporosis risk in postmenopausal American-Indian women
Objective Low bone mass often leads to osteoporosis and increased risk of bone fractures. Soda consumption may contribute to imbalances that lead to decreased bone mineral density (BMD) and general bone health. We examined the relationship between soda consumption and osteoporosis risk in postmenopausal American-Indian women, an at-risk population because of nutritional and other lifestyle-related factors. Design Cross-sectional analysis using lo…
Patterns of Cigarette Smoking Initiation in Two Culturally Distinct American Indian Tribes
Objectives. To better understand patterns of initiation among American Indians we examined age-related patterns of smoking initiation during adolescence and young adulthood in 2 American Indian tribes. Methods. We used log-rank comparison and a Cox proportional hazard regression model to analyze data from a population-based study of Southwest and Northern Plains American Indians aged 18 to 95 years who initiated smoking by age 18 years or younger…
