  • Estimating Failure Rates in Fluting Based on Archaeological Data

Catherine J Ellis, Christopher Ellis et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Field Archaeology•1995•Citada por: 9•Referencias: 15

The fluting of Early Paleo-Indian bifaces and associated failure rates have received considerable archaeological attention—perhaps at a scale exceeding its comparative importance. Nonetheless, if we are to properly evaluate explanations of the origins and purpose of fluting and the function of particular sites in Paleo-Indian settlement systems, estimates of failure rates are required. To date, such estimates have been based largely on experiment…

  • RN Transitions

    Open Access•Robert E Prytula, John D Thomas et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1975

Three groups of rats were trained and extinguished (Phase I) in an alley, and retrained and extinguished (Phases II and III) under RN, NR, and RR reward schedules. An exhaust system was operative in the alley in Phases I and III but inoperative in Phase II. The results show that with the simple schedules employed, odors do not appear to mediate the running responses. Ss which received the RN schedule were generally less resistant to extinction th…
