    This study analyzed the paleopathological conditions of a 30-year-old male unearthed at the site of Ya'amun in northern Jordan. The skeleton was dated back to Iron age.   • Buccal dental microwear as an indicator of dietary habits and dietary adaptation of the Byzantine people of Jordan

    This study examined buccal microwear from the Byzantine sites of Yajuz and Sa'ad in Jordan (n = 15) to assess different subsistence economies. An Indian Hindu sample (n = 7) was used for comparative purposes. The results show no differences in the pattern of buccal dental microwear between the two Byzantine sites, while a difference was noted when these sites were compared to Hindus.     This study describes a Byzantine craniumfrom an archaeological site in Jordan (Khirbit Yajuz).This case study illustrates severity of the multiple dentalpathologies encountered and speculates on the causeof death. The 21-yers-old female of this study sufferedmultiple dental abscesses, where the accumulated pusreached the nasal cavity and the maxillary sinusesthrough a large fistula, probably causing septicemia thatmay have caused her early death.…

    The archeological site of Natfa is a rurallate-antiquity site in northern Jordan.     The legacy of travel and hospitality in Jordan extends back more than 1,700 years, as evidenced by the late-antique site of Umm el-Jimal. Travel and hospitality revolved around the axes of trade, and generated a suitable subsistence economy in an area with limited resources.
