    We examine the record of cross-country growth over the past fifty years and ask if developing countries have made progress on closing the income gap between their per capita incomes and those in the advanced economies. We conclude that, as a group, they have not and then survey the literature on absolute convergence with particular emphasis on that from the last decade or so.   • Multiple regimes and cross‐country growth behaviour

    This paper provides some new evidence on the behaviour of cross‐country growth rates. We reject the linear model commonly used to study cross‐country growth behaviour in favour of a multiple regime alternative in which different economies obey different linear models when grouped according to initial conditions.     Geophysical survey and excavation have demonstrated that iron age settlement features and early Anglo-Saxon burials discovered during road construction in 1983 were part of an extensive multi-period site, now a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
