  • Pointless, Ridiculous Monster”

    Suzy Woltmann•ARTICLE•Preternature Critical and…•2020

In this article, I examine reimaginings of myth and legend that subversively address the confrontation between hero and monster by recreating the villainous monster as protagonist. • Appetite, Anatomy, and Desire in Caroline Era Poetry and Theatre

    Open Access•Suzy Woltmann•ARTICLE•Humanities•2019

Indian youth who identify as hijras, a third gender who are usually born male but present as female, often experience …

    Open Access•Suzy Woltmann•ARTICLE•Humanities•2018

Using the recent trend in literary scholarship that theorizes literature in terms of globalization, cosmopolitanism, and dialectic transnational identities, I examine gender and sexual ideology in Mohsin Hamid’s 2007 novel The Reluctant Fundamentalist, a post-9/11 text that explores the intricacies of community and terror. Specifically, I argue that the novel articulates a particularly gendered vision of spatial, social, and political (im)mobilit…
