Suicidality, hopelessness, and attitudes toward life and death in clinical and nonclinical adolescents

Psychometric properties of the suicidal behaviors questionnaire
In order to assess the reliability and validity of Cole's (1988) four-item version of the Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire (SBQ), 57 clinical outpatients completed it and the Reasons for Living Inventory (RFL), and 86 undergraduates completed it and the Scale for Suicide Ideation (SSI). Relationship between Personality Disorders and Clinical Symptoms in Psychiatric Inpatients as Measured by the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory
The Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory is a 175-item psychodiagnostic instrument which is based on Millon's theory of psychopathology, in which Millon suggests clinical symptoms result from an exacerbation of an individual's personality style when under stress. To replicate and expand the Orbach, Gross, and Glaubman (1981) model of suicidal behavior in children, 60 children, ages 6 to 13, reported their own suicidal thoughts and behaviors using the Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire (Linehan, 1981). Reliability and validity of the suicide intervention response inventory
The Suicide Intervention Response Inventory assesses the delicate balance of responses needed when someone is suicidal. To assess its reliability and validity, 177 practice leachers and 26 crisis-intervention volunteers completed it before and after a suicide-intervention training package. Internal reliability was strong (coefficient alpha = .83), Validity was modest. On the positive side, practice teachers who received training improved as expec…
