Relationships among insomnia, executive function, and suicidal ideation in depressed outpatients
Insomnia is a risk factor for suicide, and both are associated with cognitive problems. However, prior research has not examined insomnia, cognition, and suicidal ideation within one sample. BE-ACTIV was superior to TAU in moving residents to full remission from depression. The treatment was well received by nursing home staff and accepted by residents. A large proportion of participants remained symptomatic at posttreatment, despite taking one or more antidepressants. Effect of Music on Anxiety of Women Awaiting Breast Biopsy
The authors investigated the effect of music on the state anxiety of a sample of 20 patients awaiting breast biopsy at a suburban medical facility. The patients were assigned alternately to either the control or experimental group.
