In Ernakulum District of Kerala State India a massive vasectomy camp was conducted during a one-month period in 1970. At this camp which was organized under the leadership of the district collector and the District Family Planning Bureau along with local government over 15000 vasectomies were performed. Incentives in terms of cash and food totaled about 100 rupees ($13) per person more than an average months wages
