Open Access•Rachel Lam, Catherine Cheung et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of China Tourism Research•2026

In order to stay competitive and meet market needs, the hospitality industry has rapidly adopted smart technologies and green practices, boosting innovation and sustainability over the past decade. This study scrutinizes the human behavior, culture, and technology relationships among employees’ adaptability, technology readiness (TR), perceived green innovation culture (GIC), and green service innovative behaviors (GSIB). • The mediating roles of travel motives and social capital on the relationship between cultural intelligence and general life satisfaction

Rachel Lam, Catherine Cheung et al.•ARTICLE•Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism…•2024•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 10

Drawing on the Ability-Motivation-Opportunity (AMO) theory, this study examines how cultural intelligence affects travel motives and the development of bonding social capital. The interactions among cultural intelligence, travel motives, bonding social capital and overall life satisfaction were tested empirically, in particular the mediating effect of travel motives and bonding social capital. • Food Intake REstriction for Health OUtcome Support and Education (Firehouse) Protocol

Open Access•Sophia Kwon, Jessica Riggs et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

Fire Department of New York (FDNY) rescue and recovery workers exposed to World Trade Center (WTC) particulates suffered loss of forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV 1 ). Metabolic Syndrome increased the risk of developing WTC-lung injury (WTC-LI) . We aim to attenuate the deleterious effects of WTC exposure through a dietary intervention targeting these clinically relevant disease modifiers. We hypothesize that a calorie-restricted Mediterranean…

  • Synergistic Effect of WTC-Particulate Matter and Lysophosphatidic Acid Exposure and the Role of Rage

Open Access•Rachel Lam, Syed Hissam Haider et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

World Trade Center particulate matter (WTC-PM)-exposed firefighters with metabolic syndrome (MetSyn) have a higher risk of WTC lung injury (WTC-LI). Since macrophages are crucial innate pulmonary mediators, we investigated WTC-PM/lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) co-exposure in macrophages. LPA, a low-density lipoprotein metabolite, is a ligand of the advanced glycation end-products receptor (AGER or RAGE). LPA and RAGE are biomarkers of WTC-LI. Human …

Rachel Lam, Catherine Cheung et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of China Tourism Research•2020•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 9

This study examines the impacts of frontline hotel employees’ emotional intelligence (EI) and cultural intelligence (CQ) on guests’ satisfaction, and uniquely captures guests’ perceptions of staff capabilities. The results of a survey conducted with Asian and non-Asian respondents suggest there is a strong positive relationship between employee EI and CQ. More significantly, non-Asian hotel guests perceived higher employee EI and CQ than Asian ho…

  • Metabolic Syndrome Biomarkers of World Trade Center Airway Hyperreactivity

Open Access•Sophia Kwon, George Crowley et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

Airway hyperreactivity (AHR) related to environmental exposure is a significant public health risk worldwide. Similarly, metabolic syndrome (MetSyn), a risk factor for obstructive airway disease (OAD) and systemic inflammation, is a significant contributor to global adverse health. This prospective cohort study followed N = 7486 World Trade Center (WTC)-exposed male firefighters from 11 September 2001 (9/11) until 1 August 2017 and investigated N…
