The Implementation of Solar Roof Panel Responding to Sustainable Society
Climate change is a critical issue worldwide due to the increasing of Carbon Dioxide emission and its consequence. Carbon Dioxide is classified as one of Green House Gas emissions that linked to Climate Change. The Green and Clean hospital approach is one strategy for Climate Change mitigation and adaptation measures. This study attempts to determine the greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) from solar power generated on the rooftop building as well as …
Eco-Friendly Otop Production for Sustainable Society
The government of Thailand launched the OTOP program as a grassroots economic development strategy in 2001, and it has been functioned nationwide. However, some instances of environmental pollution occurred over a decade due to human activities. This research aimed to develop an environmental education strategy that enhance eco-friendly production and respond to the sustainability concept. The participatory action and survey research were applied…
The Elemental Characteristics and Human Health Risk of PM2.5 during Haze Episode and Non-Haze Episode in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand
Fine particle matter (PM 2.5 ) was directly related to seasonal weather, and has become the influencing factor of air quality that is harmful for human health in Chiang Rai province. The aims were determining the elemental composition in PM 2.5 and human health risk in haze (March 2021) and non-haze episodes (July-August 2021). Nine elements in PM 2.5 were measured by using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, and an enrichment factor was used…
A health impact assessment of long-term exposure to particulate air pollution in Thailand
Particulate air pollution causes a spectrum of adverse health effects affecting the respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and metabolic systems that are hypothesised to be driven by inflammation and oxidative stress. Millions of premature deaths each year are attributed to exposure to ambient particulate matter (PM). We quantified health and economic impacts from long-term exposure to ambient PM 2.5 in the population of Thailand for 2016. We…
Particulate matter (PM10) prediction based on multiple linear regression
In conclusion, the MLR models are effective at estimating PM 10 concentrations at the local level for each seasonal. The annual MLR model at both stations indicates a good prediction with an R 2 of 0.61 and 0.52 for stations 65 and 73, respectively
Exposure to Heavy Metals in Electronic Waste Recycling in Thailand
Electronic waste recycling can release heavy metals into the environment and cause adverse health effects. We assessed the association between exposure to heavy metals from electronic waste recycling and the prevalence of asthma in a nested case-control study of 51 subject pairs with and without asthma. House dust, airborne dust, blood, and urine were collected from residents of two neighboring sites in Ubon Ratchathani province, Thailand. Multip…
Relationships between Meteorological Parameters and Particulate Matter in Mae Hong Son Province, Thailand
Meteorological parameters play an important role in determining the prevalence of ambient particulate matter (PM) in the upper north of Thailand. Mae Hong Son is a province located in this region and which borders Myanmar. This study aimed to determine the relationships between meteorological parameters and ambient concentrations of particulate matter less than 10 μm in diameter (PM 10 ) in Mae Hong Son. Parameters were measured at an air quality…
Community concerns about a healthcare‐waste incinerator
This study explored community concerns about the impact of a healthcare‐waste (HCW) incinerator site in Yala Province, Thailand. A structured questionnaire was used to gather data from 300 respondents twice: before and after the incinerator commenced operation. The Chi‐square test was used to identify changes in concerns and the impact of distance. The results showed high levels of concern regarding the environment and health, and the nuisance re…
