  • Analytical Assessment of Chaltasian Slag

    Open Access•Bita Sodaei, Poorya Kashani et al.•ARTICLE•Interdisciplinaria Archaeologica…•2017•Referencias: 5

  • Arsenical Copper Production in the Late-Chalcolithic Period, Central Plateau, Iran. Case Study

    Open Access•Poorya Kashani, Bita Sodaei et al.•ARTICLE•Interdisciplinaria Archaeologica…•2013•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 4

Four copper-based artefacts and one slag from the Late-Chalcolithic Meymanatabad in the central plateau of Iran were analysed by the Particle-Induced X-Ray Emission (PIXE) method. This study has been carried out in order to characterize the chemical composition of the items under study and come to an understanding of their mineral ores. Through an understanding of these two items, lesser known aspects of metalworking abilities in that space-time …

  • A Study of Urartian Metallurgy Techniques Case Study

    Open Access•Poorya Kashani, Bita Sodaei et al.•ARTICLE•Interdisciplinaria Archaeologica…•2013•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 2

Urartian bronze armours and harnesses in the Reza Abbasi Museum, which had been previously analysed by PIXE (Particle Induced X-ray Emission), have been studied once again in order to obtain additional information concerning metallurgy of the time. For a better understanding of Urartian metalworking, all of these ten items have been studied with a metallographic microscope. The study determined that Urartian metalworkers were experimentally famil…

  • Application of Pixe Spectrometry in Determination of Chemical Composition in Ilkhanid Silver Coins

    Open Access•Bita Sodaei, Poorya Kashani•ARTICLE•Interdisciplinaria Archaeologica…•2013•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 2

The study of the elemental composition of silver coins of the Ilkhanid period can help explain the locations and identification of coin mines. It also provides information regarding the economic and political conditions of the time period under study. The aim of this work is to study the chemical composition of certain Ilkhanid coins in order to determine any connection between the mines used for extraction of the silver and the actual silver coi…
