  • A Civil War Surgeon’s Pit at Manassas National Battlefield Park, Virginia

    Human bone fragments were discovered during archaeological monitoring of earth moving on Manassas National Battlefield Park in Virginia. Later mitigation recovered bones in situ—two skeletons and seven amputated limbs.
