  • Holocene climate history of the Nunatsiavut (northern Labrador, Canada) established from pollen and dinoflagellate cyst assemblages covering the past 7000 years

    Open Access•Thomas Richerol, Bianca Fréchette et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2015•Referencias: 9

This study documents the past ~7000 years of Holocene climatic history for Labrador and Nunatsiavut, using a sedimentary sequence of more than 8 m retrieved in Nachvak fjord, one of the northernmost fjords of Nunatsiavut. Using a multi-proxy approach combining a solid Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS)- 14 C chronology and the fossil assemblages of pollen grains and dinoflagellate cysts (dinocysts), we were able to compare terrestrial and marine…

  • Non-pollen palynomorphs in the Black Sea corridor

    Open Access•Peta J Mudie, Fabienne Marret et al.•ARTICLE•Vegetation History and…•2010•Citada por: 3

  • Decadal-scale sea ice changes in the Canadian Arctic and their impacts on humans during the past 4,000 years

    Peta J Mudie, Andre Rochon et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Archaeology•2005•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 10

Climate warming of >1.5°C over three decades has diminished Arctic sea ice and forced drastic changes on Inuit people of the Canadian Arctic. Discontinuities in archaeological records also suggest that climatic changes may have caused site abandonment and life style shifts in Paleo- and Neo-eskimo societies. We therefore examine the decadal-scale palaeoclimatic changes recorded by quantitative palynological data in marine records from Coburg Poly…

  • Palynological Evidence of Climatic and Oceanographic Changes in the North Sea during the Last Deglaciation

Open Access•Andre Rochon, Anne De Vernal et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•1998

Palynological analyses performed on cores from the Norwegian Channel (Troll 8903) led to reconstruction of the late-glacial variations in sea-surface conditions using dinoflagellate cyst data and permitted direct correlation with the vegetation history of northwestern Europe derived from pollen assemblages. By ∼15,000 yr B.P., ice rapidly receded from the Norwegian shelf and relatively warm summer conditions prevailed in surface waters. A first l…
