  • Elucidation of the potential molecular mechanisms of Buyang Huanwu Decoction in delaying cardiac aging

Open Access•Xiaodong Duan, Yongan Deng et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2026

  • Buyang Huanwu Decoction attenuates vascular aging by suppressing the pathway of neutrophil extracellular trap formation via modulation of the HMGB1/TLR4/p38 signaling pathway

Open Access•Nan Xiao, Jinsong Gao et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2026

For the first time, our findings unveil a novel mechanism whereby BHD alleviates vascular aging by modulating the immune microenvironment through inhibition of the HMGB1-TLR4-p38-NETs cascade. These findings provide a novel immunomodulatory perspective on BHD and highlight its potential as a holistic therapeutic strategy against vascular aging

  • Research on the mechanism of buyang huanwu decoction in the amelioration of age-associated memory impairment based on the “co-occurrence network regulation of intestinal microecology-host metabolism-i…

Open Access•Caiyan Liu, Jieyong Du et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2025

  • Shengxuebao Mixture improves carboplatin-induced anemia by inhibiting apoptosis and ferroptosis

Open Access•Miao Yu, Yu Miao et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2025

  • Genus Physalis L

Open Access•Yefang Liang, Lanyuan Liang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

  • Monochasma savatieri Franch. protects against acute lung injury via α7nAChR-TLR4/NF-κB p65 signaling pathway based on integrated pharmacology analysis

Open Access•Mantong Zhao, Mengru Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

  • Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bunge total saponins ameliorate diabetic cardiomyopathy by modifying the PI3K/AKT/HIF-1α pathway to restore glycolytic metabolism

Open Access•Luyang Zhong, Jianhua Li et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

Open Access•Minzhen Xie, Siqi Gu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2023

  • Physalin B ameliorates inflammatory responses in lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury mice by inhibiting NF-κB and NLRP3 via the activation of the PI3K/Akt pathway

Open Access•Renxing Zhong, Tianyi Xia et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2022

  • Integrative pharmacology reveals the mechanisms of Erzhi Pill, a traditional Chinese formulation, against diabetic cardiomyopathy

Open Access•Mingming Peng, Tianyi Xia et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2022

  • Valeriana amurensis improves Amyloid-beta 1-42 induced cognitive deficit by enhancing cerebral cholinergic function and protecting the brain neurons from apoptosis in mice

Open Access•Qiuhong Wang, Changfu Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2014

These findings suggest that AD-EFV could ameliorate Aβ induced cognitive dysfunction through two underlying mechanisms: AD-EFV enhances the cerebral cholinergic function by increasing the secretion of ACh and enhancing the ChAT activity, and AD-EFV protects the brain neurons from Aβ induced apoptosis via activating the p-ERK and Bcl-2 signaling and suppressing the Bax pathways. Besides, the main constituents of AD-EFV are lignans which might be r…
