Self-administered questionnaires used to evaluate sexuality education programmes and interventions among young people
Sexuality education is widely implemented across educational settings, yet no overview has mapped the questionnaires used to evaluate its impact on young people’s sexual health. This scoping review identified and described self-administered questionnaires used to assess the effectiveness of sexuality education interventions targeting young people aged 10–24 years. Following PRISMA-ScR guidelines, we analysed articles published between 2013 and 20…
Who attends a free sexual health center in Paris for HIV/STI screening? an observational study
The multidimensional approach demonstrated that both key populations and lower-risk populations visit a sexual health center. While several groups could benefit from tailored interventions, knowledge of HIV and its treatment should be enhanced for every patient visiting a sexual health center. To provide a complete offer in sexual health, patients' profiles and expectations need to be taken into account
Health workers’ perspectives on the quality of maternal and newborn health care around the time of childbirth
Background: Health workers' (HWs') perspectives on the quality of maternal and newborn care (QMNC) are not routinely collected. In this cross-sectional study, we aimed to document HWs' perspectives on QMNC around childbirth in 12 World Health Organization (WHO) European countries. Methods: HWs involved in maternal/neonatal care for at least one year between March 2020 and March 2023 answered an online validated WHO standards-based questionnaire c…
Young people’s proposals for a web-based intervention for sexual health promotion
In sexual health promotion, young people are indispensable stakeholders who can make concrete proposals and can also participate in content creation and research. More broadly, in health promotion, involving target audiences in decisions represents a promising perspective
Is HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis among Men Who Have Sex with Men Effective in a Real-World Setting? Experience with One-On-One Counseling and Support in a Sexual Health Center in Paris, 2018–2020
HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is highly effective but depends on patients' care engagement, which is often mediocre and poorly measured in real-world settings. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a PrEP program in a sexual health center that included accompanying measures to improve engagement. A retrospective observational study was conducted. All men who have sex with men (MSM) who initiated PrEP for the first time between 1 A…
Revealing Gender Double Standards in the Parenthood Norm Depends on Question Order
Becoming a parent has been described as a dominant social norm, especially for women. Though some research has indicated changes toward more flexible gendered parenthood norms, methodological issues may be masking the continued presence of a gender double standard. In line with the condition for activation of double standards, we postulated that endorsement of the parenthood norm would vary depending on the response context. Our aim was to analyz…
What do patients consulting in a free sexual health center know about HIV transmission and post-exposure prophylaxis
Although the main HIV transmission routes are well known, false beliefs persist and knowledge regarding PEP needs to be improved. Prevention campaigns must focus on these themes which appear as a complementary strategy to pre-exposure prophylaxis to reduce HIV infection
Reasons for rejecting hormonal contraception in Western countries
Infertility Treatment in France, 2008–2017
Objectives. To measure trends in infertility treatment use between 2008 and 2017 in France using data from the national health insurance system. Methods. Between 2008 and 2017, we observed a representative national sample of nearly 1% of all women aged 20 to 49 years who were affiliated with the main health insurance scheme in France (more than 100 000 women observed each year). We exhaustively recorded all health care reimbursed to these women. …
Reproductive health, social life and plans for the future of adolescents growing-up with HIV
Most perinatally HIV-infected children receiving antiretroviral treatment now survive into adolescence. This is a period when young people experience puberty, shape their sexual identity and initiate their own social life. The aim of our analysis was to compare aspects of the sexual and reproductive health, social life and plans for the future of perinatally HIV-infected adolescents (PHIVAs) with a control group from the general population. We us…
O6-5.6 Spontaneous live birth after in vitro fertilisation treatment
Introduction Spontaneous live births (SLB) after in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment are not unusual, but reported SLB rates vary widely and little is known of their associated factors. Our objective was to examine the frequency of SLB and their associated factors among couples who had had IVF, successfully or unsuccessfully. Methods A retrospective cohort of couples was recruited in eight French IVF centers. The couples had begun IVF treatmen…

Men Medically Assisted to Reproduce
