Individuals, Families, and Income Distribution
This paper is concerned with the intervention of the family between the acquisition and disposal of income by individuals. After reviewing this topic the author discusses distributive arrangements between generations that are important for the study of interactions between demographic factors and income distribution particularly in the context of the demographic transition. A note on policy implications concludes the paper. (EXCERPT)

The number of children born to the second generation is shown to be inversely related to tbe predicted income of the first generation (father’s father) and to the number of siblings in the second generation.
