Knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards iron deficiency anemia among paramedical college staff and students in a Saudi university
Despite the adequate knowledge and the favorable attitudes, both staff and students demonstrated suboptimal dietary behavior to prevent IDA. A significant gender-based difference in IDA prevalence was found among students, suggesting that awareness alone may not ensure consistent preventive behaviors across genders. These findings highlight modifiable gaps that merit further research to guide educational initiatives aimed at reducing IDA risk in …

Impacts of Adiposity on the Attentional Cost of Sensory-Motor Performance Associated with Mobility in a Dual-Task Paradigm
(1) Background: Obesity is one of the most prevalent health problems worldwide. Studies have evidenced that the increase in body weight affects the normal neuromusculoskeletal function, which leads to abnormal gait patterns and impaired balance. (2) Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the influence of dual-task activity (cognitive-motor task) on gait parameters and balance among obese students. (3) Material and methods: A cross-sectio…
Effect of Resisted Sprint and Plyometric Training on Lower Limb Functional Performance in Collegiate Male Football Players
The main objectives of this study were to evaluate the short-term effects of resisted sprint and plyometric training on sprint performance together with lower limb physiological and functional performance in collegiate football players. Ninety collegiate football players participated in this three-arm, parallel group randomized controlled trial study. Participants were randomly divided into a control group and two experimental groups: resisted sp…
Influence of Work-Related Safety and Health Guidelines on Knowledge and Prevalence of Occupational Back Pain among Rehabilitation Nurses in Saudi Arabia
The level of knowledge highly improved and the prevalence of OBP markedly reduced within a span of 6-month among rehabilitation nurses in Saudi Arabia after attending an ergonomic workshop. Importantly, the nurses learned and geared up themselves for practicing the safe patient handling guidelines to avoid occupational back pain in the future. Therefore, rehabilitation nurses should update their knowledge and awareness about occupational safety a…
Glycemic Response of Natural Sweeteners like Sugarcane Juice, Honey and Jaggery in Healthy Individuals
Use of simple sugars, artificial and processed sweeteners enhances the risk of diabetes and obesity. People were unaware of benefits of natural sweeteners. An experimental study based on sample size of 10 participants was conducted, to find out the glycemic response of natural sweeteners like sugarcane juice, honey and jaggery in healthy individuals. They were instructed to consume all the juice served in a period of 5 min. Further blood samples …
Effect of Chronic Ankle Sprain on Pain, Range of Motion, Proprioception, and Balance among Athletes
Background : Ankle sprains are common among physically active individuals, especially among athletes. Majority of those who suffer ankle sprains have residual symptoms including pain, episodes of giving way, compromised proprioception and neuromuscular control, and re-injury leading to chronic ankle instability. The aim of this study was to see the effect of chronic ankle sprain on pain, range of motion, proprioception, and, static and dynamic ba…
