Preventable Infectious Pathology Dominates Neonatal Readmissions
Background: Readmission of newborns within the first 28 days after initial discharge represents a significant healthcare concern, causing distress to families and financial burden on healthcare systems. Understanding readmission patterns and risk factors is essential for implementing preventive strategies. Objective: This retrospective observational study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and characteristics of neonatal readmissions to a pediatric…
Ultrasound Evaluation of the Deep Cerebral Venous System in Term and Preterm Neonates
There is no difference in the central venous pattern or angle at the confluence of the TV and the ICV between different categories of neonates. The angle at the confluence between the TV and ICV could identify the cases at risk for GM/IVH as well as the side of occurrence of the haemorrhage, offering the opportunity of developing personalised prevention strategies. The lack of an MRI comparator of these measurements limits the practical importanc…
Neonatal Renal Ultrasound Reference Values in Romanian Term Newborns
This study provides the first reference values for renal dimensions in Romanian term newborns. Renal volume shows modest correlations with anthropometric characteristics, particularly birth weight. These reference values may serve as baseline measurements for future longitudinal studies investigating renal development and disease risk
