  • Association of ethylene oxide exposure with serum neurofilament light chain levels among American adults

Open Access•Xiuwen Yang, Huaili Feng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Objective To explore the relationship between Ethylene oxide (EO) expousure and serum neurofilament light chain (NfL). Method A data of 559 adults from the 2013–2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) was analyzed, and the relationship between log-transformed EO hemoglobin adducts (HbEO) and serum NfL levels was assessed using multiple linear regression models and restricted cubic spline functions. Stratified analysis was c…

  • Association between solid cooking fuels and functional disability

Open Access•Xiuwen Yang, Zhaoyi Liu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Solid cooking fuels use increases the risk of functional disability, with coal posing the greatest risk. Transitioning to cleaner cooking technologies can mitigate this risk, underscoring the need for policies promoting cleaner cooking to reduce indoor air pollution and improve health in older adults
