Death and Coping Mechanisms in Animated Disney Movies
The purpose of this content analysis was to examine how death depictions in animated Disney films has changed in the past 14 years and the coping mechanisms used to process death within these films. Death in Disney Films
This study examined the potential influence of Disney films on children's concepts of death. A content analysis was performed on 23 death scenes from 10 selected full-length Disney Classic animated films. The portrayal of death focused on five categories: character status; depiction of death; death status; emotional reaction; and causality. The Use of Multiple Evaluation Approaches in Program Evaluation
The authors discuss the use of multiple evaluation approaches in conducting program evaluations. Specifically, they illustrate four evaluation approaches (theory-driven, consumer-based, empowerment, and inclusive evaluation) and briefly discuss a fifth (use-focused evaluation) as a side effect of the use of the others. The settlement excavated by Sir Leonard Woolley at Al Mina was identified with the ancient city of Posideum and interpreted as an exceptionally early Greek colony in the East, which played the leading role in the relationship between Greece and the Orient at the end of the 'Dark Ages.' The bases for such an interpretation were always either very fragile or non-existent. It is now generally recognized that Posideum should be placed further South, …
