  • Brain imaging data and summary data-based Mendelian randomization analysis reveal the impact of multiorgan aging on schizophrenia

    Open Access•Yan-Kun Han, Miao-Yan Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2026

This study provides valuable clues to understand the link between SZ and multiorgan system aging and improves the current understanding of multiple tissue-specific aging-related genes with SZ

  • Neurobiological mechanisms and treatment of empathic pain in nonsuicidal self-injury

Open Access•Shu-Li Xu, Di Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2026

Empathic pain is defined as the experience of vicarious pain resulting from the observation of another person's suffering, and it involves complex neurobiological pathways that parallel those involved in direct pain perception. The intricate link between nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) and empathic pain lies in the fact that they share certain neurobiological mechanisms, particularly in the areas of emotion regulation and pain perception, and both…

  • Clinical efficacy of modified suanzaoren decoction compared to esazolam tablets in the treatment of chronic insomnia disorder

Open Access•Ping Yao, Xiao Guo et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

After the treatment of CID with the modified SZRD and esazolam, they have the comparable clinical efficacy. However, estazolam showed a more consistent treatment effect in subjective sleep quality assessment among the study population, whereas modified SZRD showed a more consistent treatment effect in objective slow-wave sleep maintenance, specifically in N3 stage duration. The registration number was NCT06452953

  • Mental health problems of front-line medical staff in the early stage of public health emergencies

    Open Access•Dong-Bao Wang, Jin-Bo Jiang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2024

In the face of the unprecedented public health crisis caused by the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, front-line health workers are under enormous mental pressure. This paper aims to explore the mental health challenges faced by front-line health workers in the early stages of a public health emergency, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. At the same time, the factors that increase their mental stress are analyzed, and practical measures…

  • The relations between different components of intolerance of uncertainty and symptoms of depression during the Covid-19 pandemic

Open Access•Tingwei Feng, Lei Ren et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2022

By delineating specific pathways between IU and depression and highlighting the influential role of "Frustration when facing uncertainty" in maintaining the IU-Depression co-occurrence, current findings may inform targeted prevention and interventions for depression during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging-Based Connectomics in First-Episode Schizophrenia

    Open Access•Jinbo Jiang, Jin-Bo Jiang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2020

    OPINION article Front. Psychiatry, 11 September 2020Sec. Neuroimaging Volume 11 - 2020 | https://doi.org/10.3389/fpsyt.2020.565056

  • Neuroanatomical Features That Predict Response to Electroconvulsive Therapy Combined With Antipsychotics in Schizophrenia

    Open Access•Yibin Xi, Yi-Bin Xi et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2020

Our results support the possible use of structural brain feature-based radiomics as a potential tool for predicting ECT response in patients with schizophrenia undergoing antipsychotics, paving the way for utilization of markers in psychosis

  • The implicit beliefs and implicit behavioral tendencies towards smoking-related cues among Chinese male smokers and non-smokers

    Open Access•Lei Ren, Long‐Biao Cui et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2019

This study suggests that implicit beliefs and behavioral tendencies toward smoking-related cues vary significantly between Chinese male smokers and non-smokers. In addition, there is a positive correlation between implicit beliefs and behavioral tendencies within smokers. It also shows for the first time that the implicit behavioral tendencies are related to smoking behaviors. Our results may be considered as references for smoking cessation inte…
