    Most scholars will agree that the coneept of Image, as it applies to Public Relations, is imprecise and vague. It is vague in the sense that, like definitions of public relations, there are many different definitions of image which reflect different theoretical orientations.     Two studies into the use and perceived utility of remedial strategies for coping with embarrassing predicaments are reported.     This study tested the hypothesis that there should be a negative and significant correlation between cognitive complexity and apprehension about communication. Indeed, there was, -.43, which confirmed the hypothesis ( N = 72 college students)
