The article, based on the analysis of published sources and archival documents, details the chronology and circumstances of the complete loss of ethnic identity by the Vakh Selkups, determines its main markers and sup-porting factors. On the basis of the archival sources, for the first time an attempt is made to reconstruct settlement of the migrants from the Vitebsk Governorate - the armoured boyars - in the territory of Siberia.
