Protovolosovskaya Ceramics from the Upper Volga Region. Parfenkovo 1 Settlement (Moscow Region) Case Study
The article examines the complex of Late Neolithic ceramics of the settlement of Parfenkovo 1, located in the Sergiev Posad district of the Moscow region on the left bank of the Dubna River. During the exploration in 2021, Neolithic ceramics of two traditions — combed and pit-combed - were revealed in the filling of the utility pit. Identifi cation of Adhesives for Repairing Ancient Ceramics
This study focuses on the composition of the adhesives used to repair clay vessels, and on the technique of their preparation in the Late Neolithic and Chalcolithic (late 4th to early 3rd millennia BC) sites of Far Northeast Europe (the Republic of Komi and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug). Human history has been shaped by global dispersals of technologies, although understanding of what enabled these processes is limited. Here, we explore the behavioural mechanisms that led to the emergence of pottery among hunter-gatherer communities in Europe during the mid-Holocene.
