Animals, Gaúchos and Drovers in the Historical Formation of Southern Brazil (XVI–XIX Centuries)
The objective of this article is to provide an account of the importance of cattle, horses and mules to the historical and socioeconomic formation of Southern Brazil and Rio Grande do Sul, paying more attention than the traditional narratives to explaining the violence against these animals, in what can be called a vegan approach.
