Transatlantic linkages
Rates of emigration from Norway were relatively high and rates of remigration were relatively low. Yet we should not discount the influence of returning emigrants and ideas on Norway. Indeed, this article suggests that a large emigration even without a large return migration is adequate to place its imprint on the homeland.
