Structure, Impact, and Deficiencies of Beginning Counselor Educators' Doctoral Teaching Preparation
The authors utilized the consensual qualitative research method (Hill, Thompson, & Williams, ) to explore beginning counselor educators' (N = 9) experiences of doctoral teaching preparation, including helpful and missing components. Emerging themes included a lack of intentionality in teaching-related program design and a need for stronger preparation in pedagogy and content delivery methods

Using Personal Growth Groups in Multicultural Counseling Courses to Foster Students' Ethnic Identity Development
This study was designed to examine the relationship between personal growth group (PGG) experiences in multicultural counseling courses and counseling students' ethnic identity development. Differences in ethnic identity development were compared between counseling students who participated in a PGG experience as part of a multicultural counseling course and those who did not. Sabbaticals for Counselor Educators
The authors investigated the purposes, benefits, and outcomes of sabbaticals for counselor educators. Forty-five counselor educators who had taken sabbaticals within the previous 5 years completed an on-line survey about aspects of their sabbatical leave. Sabbaticals were overwhelmingly reported to be positive and productive experiences that yielded personal and professional benefits
Helping Beginning Counselors Develop a Personal Theory of Counseling
Developing a personal theory of counseling is essential for beginning counselors. Current approaches de-emphasize life experiences before graduate training and fail to incorporate counselor developmental stages. This article presents a framework for strengthening development of a personal theory of counseling by integrating life experiences and counselor developmental stages with theory building approaches

This study reexamined the Counselor Evaluation Rating Scale (CERS) using confirmatory factor analysis. Results revealed a different factor structure when the instrument was self-administered
A Proposed Model for Peer Supervision
Many counselors find themselves in settings where supervision of their clinical skills is not available. A peer supervision model is proposed that will provide practitioners with an opportunity to monitor their practice, increase self-confidence, and further develop their counseling skills
