Ohlone Profiles
In this piece, co-director of the Ohlone Profiles project Neil MacLean relates experiences from his personal involvement over the last seven years producing Ohlone, Miwok and Pomo dance in San Francisco. Maclean offers an account of the renewal of Ohlone dance since the 1970s emphasizing how space for renewal was created by the Red Power movement and is activated by Ohlone, Miwok, and Pomo dance group leaders. Self-identification as a kanaka is a common rhetorical ploy in highlands Papua New Guinea, used to emphasize both a sense of economic and political marginalization, and a continued identification with tradition. Productivity, Survival, and Movements of Female Moose in a Low-density Population, Northwest Territories, Canada
Moose (Alces alces andersoni) occur at low density (140-160 moose/1000 sq km) and are the most important game animal in much of the Mackenzie Valley, western Northwest Territories. Productivity and survival of 30 female moose (>=1.5 yr.) were studied from November 1985 through November 1988. Twenty-nine of these moose were radio-tracked for a total of 1039 relocations. Pregnancy rates were 96% for adult and 40% for yearling females. Most females …

Continuities and variation between the Tukumenga and other Maring clan‐clusters form the problem of this paper. Until the establishment of colonial control, clan‐clusters were in a continual process of dissolution and reconfiguration through warfare and other processes. In contradiction to this apparent flux the geographic, cosmological and social integrity and continuity of the clan‐cluster territory is fundamental to the Maring view of things. …
