Black clinics face special problems in “getting themselves together.” Black and minority clinics tend to be less oriented towards serving the needs of the young drug abuser and are much more concerned with meeting the basic health needs of a particular minority community. The author presents points on the establishment of a clinic, the initial planning meetings, the role and interaction of the black and white professions and para‐professionals and how they work out their differences and come together towards a common goal, the financial problems and how to raise funds through concerts, radio, TV, and health fairs
