S'affirme graduellement un itinéraire original que permettent de repérer des proximités ou des emprunts d'une part, à des économistes tels que Léon Walras, François Perroux, Joseph Schumpeter, John R. Commons, d'autre part, à des juristes tels que L. Duguit, M. Hauriou, E. Lambert ou E. Levy. Les motivations de cette entreprise sont culturelles. Elles répondent à une interrogation originelle sur la compatibilité entre valeurs républicaines et capitalisme. À ce titre, l'histoire de la pensée de cet auteur constitue une approximation intéressante de la quête qui paraît avoir animé une génération d'économistes non conformistes français. Gradually an original itinerary has been emerging : this itinerary can be marked through both proximities and borrowings from economists such as L. Walras, F. Perroux, J. Schumpeter, J. R. Commons on the one hand, and from jurists such as L. Duguit, M. Hauriou, E. Lambert, E. Levy, on the other hand. Motivations for such a concern are cultural ones. They answer an original questioning regarding the compatibility between republican values and capitalism. For that reason, the history of this author's thought represents an interesting approach to the search that seems to have moved a generation of non-conformist trench economists
