A new field of research, and especially an interdisciplinary one, suffers initially from a lack of vehicles to bring its findings before the public. The gap is usually filled at first by symposium volumes and other edited collections of individual papers; some of these were mentioned in the last Archaeometric Clearinghouse (JFA 7 [1980] 259–260). Journals and other serial publications appear later. What follows here is a description of the more important serials and journals that are concerned with archaeometry
