From Poughkeepsie to Peoria to the Persian Gulf

Although events in the last few years in Moscow, Baghdad, Berlin, Beijing, and Panama City have clearly demonstrated to me the importance of world politics, I sometimes have been frustrated that my students did not always feel the same. Thus, like the surfer searching for the perfect wave, I embarked on a journey to seek a better way of teaching courses in international politics. Many others had ventured before me (Walcott 1980).
