In this paper I tell the story of a Hollywood motion picture that almost got made — a narrative that is autobiographical, self‐reflexive, minimalist. Using a games metaphor to help interpret the odds workings of a rough and sometimes unjust business, I toy recklessly with the earnest folly that marks the motion picture business in the postmodern moment
