Supervision is a dynamic interaction between the supervisor and supervisee that influences professional and clinical behavior. Studies have found that ethnoracial concordance between provider and client is more beneficial to the health decisions and outcomes of the clients. Ethnic, cultural, and racial matching between social worker and client can improve retention, treatment outcomes, and completion. Thus, social workers must consider increasing the racial and ethnic diversity of the workforce to serve clients and communities better.
