The August 2025 meetings between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska, United States, raised the issue of finding practical tools for shaping new foundations of world order. In this regard, this article aims to explore the theoretical aspects of the formation of China’s model of world order and to understand the narrative of intangible power in Beijing’s world order within the context of international and Chinese academic discourse. The relevance of studying world order for Beijing stems from the intensification of US tariff pressure and Beijing’s recognition of the impossibility of fully utilizing material power in its foreign policy, particularly vis-à-vis the United States. Given this, China has begun to more clearly position its power (authority, influence) on the global stage, primarily through intangible formats (informational, moral, discursive, relational, normative and strategic narrative) and articulate these in its model of world order as the most effective for raising moral prestige and great power status in global politics. This article argues for the slow process and challenges of understanding in the development of world order ideas in China, exploring the ancient Sino-centric interstate order in East Asia, and developing new diplomatic instruments for world order with Chinese characteristics, based on multilateralism (multipolarity in the Russian sense), drawing on Chinese political tradition and taking into account contemporary trends in global politics and Xi Jinping’s initiatives. The purpose of this article is to examine, against the backdrop of international academic discourse, the Chinese discourse, the first theoretical developments on the formation of a modern Chinese view of the world order, and the already established, quite effective formats of Beijing’s non-material power
