‘What would I like to tell the world about myself?’ Using photovoice with vulnerable children from Israel and India in an international social work context

This case study explores a photovoice-based project within an international social work education program, involving two vulnerable groups: five children with autism from Israel and 11 children without parental care from India. The children created photovoices on the theme ‘What would I like to tell the world about myself?’ A total of 32 photovoices were analyzed, revealing four themes: Beyond Vulnerability, Positive Self-Identity, Dreams for the Future, and Gratitude. The study concludes that photovoice is an effective participatory methodology, enabling children to express their experiences in educational and social contexts.
