The study of dreams is sparking newfound interest in several fields related to the understanding of the human psyche, including transactional analysis (TA), where dreams have been linked to script change. Although empirical studies have considered dreams as a measure of change in psychotherapy, none of them have focused on psychodynamic transactional analysis group therapy (PTAGT). A pilot single-case study was conducted to evaluate the link between dreams and script change during PTAGTs. Three dream transcriptions from three patients from different PTAGTs were randomly selected and analyzed using core conflictual relationship theme (CCRT), a qualitative method with high affinity to script conceptualization. Each dream belonged to a different stage of the patient’s journey in the group, and the blinded researcher was asked to put them in order. The CCRT detected the evolution of the script themes and appeared in line with the therapist’s assessment. This result could open the possibility of analyzing dreams through CCRT and using them as markers of therapeutic processes
