Zegart, Associate Professor of Public Policy at the University of California at Los Angeles, is also a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. She is a member of the National Academies of Science Committee on Behavioral and Social Science Research Project on Improving Intelligence Analysis, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Intelligence Analysts Association Advisory Board. In 1993, she served on the Clinton Administration's National Security Council staff. She holds a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Harvard College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University. Dr. Zegart is the author ofFlawed by Design: The Evolution of the CIA, JCS, and NSC(Stanford, CA: Stanford University Press, 1999) andSpying Blind: The CIA, the FBI, and the Origins of 9/11(Princeton, NJ: Princeton University Press, 2007)
