Click to increase image sizeClick to decrease image size Additional informationNotes on contributorsRiccardo Maffei Dr. Riccardo Maffei earned his Ph.D. in History from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 2005, with a dissertation on Bolshevism and National Socialism in Fascist Italy. From 2006 to 2008, he participated in a major research project funded by the Tuscany region to preserve the memory of anti-Fascism and the Resistance. A working member of the Istituto Storico della Resistenza e dell' Età Contemporanea in Provincia di Lucca, his articles have been published in numerous scholarly journals. Dr. Maffei is currently working on a study of Freemasonary in the Pescia region from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries. His latest book, Introduction to Fascism: The Characteristics and Events of Italian Totalitarianism, will be published this year by La Scuola in Brescia. Robert L. Miller is the Founder and Publisher of Enigma Books, New York, an independent firm specializing in contemporary American and European political, espionage, and military history. The editor and translator of more than fifteen books from the French, Spanish, and Italian into English, he also launched and still runs Language Publications, a software language learning company. Before founding Enigma, he had worked for Macmillan Publishing and taught at various universities, including the City University of New York. He has lectured widely in the United States and Europe and appears frequently on C-SPAN's Book TV series
