L’objectif de cet article est d’examiner les collections babyloniennes de présages tirés d’oiseaux afin de démontrer comment les organes physiques externes de l’oiseau sacrifié pouvaient être interprétés par le devin comme des signes d’événements célestes potentiels. Cela nous amènera à soutenir que le terme bien connu manzāzu fait référence à l’apparition concrète d’une divinité sous forme de corps astral au cours du rituel d’extispicine. La discussion est suivie de l’édition complète d’un recueil de présages tirés d’oiseaux (YOS 10 51, YOS 10 52 et Nougayrol 1967)
